Casino boss Brian Stanton rates seven casino-heist scenes in movies and television for realism.
He discusses the accuracy of various casino scams and gambling thieves depicted in “Casino” (1995), starring Robert De Niro; “Ocean’s Eleven” (2001), with Brad Pitt and George Clooney; and “Ocean’s Thirteen” (2007). He also comments on blackjack, poker, and card counting scenes in “The Hangover” (2009), starring Zach Galifianakis and Bradley Cooper, as well as “The Cooler” (2003). Stanton analyzes how casino security deals with cheaters in “3000 Miles to Graceland” (2001) and “Croupier” (1998).

Vegas Casino Boss Rates 7 Casino Heists In Movies And TV | How Real Is It? | Insider
Card counting is not illegal, but you will be thrown out.
I'm a mathematician. That scene with the equations floating in front of their face? Yeah those are equations for sure, and numbers and mathematical symbols. They look to me like simple formulas from physics or engineering or something like that. As far as what they are specifically, I'd either need to sit down and stare at them for a few hours and work em out myself, not sure the payoff is worth it.
I love the fact that being smart enough to count cards isn't illegal or cheating, but will still get you banned. It's like they are saying we can't take your money, so you can no longer play, even though they have set the odds in their favor. It's a joke, IMO. They shouldn't be allowed to ban someone because they can win. Lol
Love how one of my favorite movies was rated a 1. But it makes sense ha, Hollywood effect > realism
The ocean movies are great movies where I just want to shut off my brain for two hours and enjoy everything
It is against multiple Fire Codes for people to be locked in a room like that. If there is no ther paths of egress and the doors are access controlled like that there would need to be an emergency door release (normally blue looks like a fire alarm pull station) within 4 feet of the door that shuts down power to the lock opening it.
The first one of these where the expert is an awful person.
The gambling industry is revolting and immoral.
Guy i knew had ran up a marker of over $600k and tried running from vegas, back to his home in canada. Guess what? There was a few gentleman waiting inside his home from the casino when he got there….
The arrogance of these casino bosses.
Who calls blackjack "21"? I vaguely remember hearing it being called that as a child somewhere. Seems like something they'd call it at a church or something where you're not betting or gambling anything and they don't want the game to be associated with any kind of gambling as much as possible
Insider delivers again. Directly to the point, no bullshit, no pitches. Just quality content & insight from subject matter experts.
If Casino is the most realistic and the best example ever and its a 7 then what is the 10?
Thank-you for the input from people who worked in the industry extensively in the comments.
He says general public thinking they can count cards was a boom for them yet his station casinos are kicking card counters out daily
This guy is so funny what a clown.
Still like like the business end of day to day life… just real people working real jobs…. I give it a two to one odd that gambling isn’t for everyone 😂

Still like any information with reality…. The house wins😊
So…. Things have changed in 50-80 years…. Pretending and reality… I’m triggered 😮
Yea you don't beat people in the backroom and you aren't run by dirty mob money. 😂😂😂 Copium
Imagine getting kicked out for using your brain 😂😂😂
4:58 "Like It’s not illegal. It’s frowned upon, like masturbating on an airplane…thanks alot Bin Laden"
Well, you'd have NONE of these problems if you had ditches around your casinos
Acciendentally slides dice on table.
Casino: Tackle him.
Casinos can scam you legally but you may not scam them.
“If there is a general theme across the spectrum of global financial crises, it is that the excessive accumulation of debt, whether by governments, banks, businesses or consumers, often poses a risk more important than it seems during a boom.
In "The Cooler" it is mentioned that having a cooler was already seen as outdated in Vegas and Alec Baldwin's character is the only boss to hire one because he's old school
Counting cards is a joke no reason you shouldn’t be allowed to do that casino should pay people off who are doing it
… I like this guy.
I don't go to casinos because the house always wins. Even when the house loses they just say the slot machine was malfunctioning and still win.
Casino took place back in the day. The cattle prod was probably very accurate.
